What we do for DeKalb County:

  • Receive and analyze township assessment rolls
  • Equalize assessments within the county or any area therein
  • Apply various exemptions to homestead properties
  • Publish the assessment roll for each township in general reassessment year (quadrennial year)
  • Provide mailed notice to owners of property which has been reassessed or changed by the Township Assessor , CCAO or Mapping Department
  • Certify assessment roll to the Board of Review
  • Report statistical abstracts to the Illinois Department of Revenue
  • Serve as Clerk of the Board of Review; act as chairman of the County Farmland Assessment Review Committee. The committee consists of 5 Members: three farmers, appointed by the County Board Chairman, Chairman of the Board of Review, and the CCAO.
