Finance Committee (7 Members)Advises the county board in matters relating to finance, capital planning, facility management, information management, technology and administrative services. Responsible annually for the submission to the county board of a balanced budget along with recommended tax levy and capital spending plan for the coming five year period. Chairperson: Stephen Reid Reporting: Finance Office, Facilities Management Office, Information Management Office, GIS - Development, County Farm Land Sale, Bond Projects (1995), Debt Service, Opportunity Fund, Asset Replacement, Tollway Access Loan, Retirement (FICA & IMRF), Medical Insurance, Non-Departmental Services, PBC Lease, 5-Year Special Projects Plan, 5-Year Renewal & Replacement Plan.
Executive Committee (9 Members)Consists of the chairs of the seven other standing committees and is chaired by the county board chairman. The vice-chairman of the county board shall serve as the vice-chairman in his absence and present all reports of the Executive Committee at meetings of the full county board. When neither the board chairman nor the vice-chairman is available the board chairman shall designate another member of the Executive Committee to serve. This committee advises the county board with regard to the agendas for its meetings, coordinates the efforts of all standing and ad-hoc committees, administers the exempt employee evaluation plan and advises the board on matters relating to administrative procedures such as the conduit of public hearings. Forest Preserve Committee (7 Members)Advises the forest preserve commissioners on all matters relative to county forest preserves, including personnel issues, capital issues, wetlands development and real estate donations and acquisitions associated with existing and future preserves. Chairperson: Julia Fauci Reporting: Forest Preserve, including capital Issues, Wetlands, Development & Real Estate Acquisitions associated with said Preserves.
Planning & Zoning (7 Members)Advises the county board in matters relating to the county's comprehensive plan, zoning ordinances, building and development matters, building codes and violations of various county ordinance. This committee coordinates with Regional Planning Commission. Chairperson: Anita Turner Reporting: Planning & Zoning, DeKalb County Soil and Water
County Highway (7 Members)Advises the county board on all matters related to roads, bridges and other elements of public infrastructure. This committee is also responsible for intergovernmental issues related to transportation including coordination of efforts with the state, municipal and township road and bridge systems and participation in the Metropolitan Planning Organization. Chairperson: John Gudmunson Reporting: Highway, Engineering, Aid to Bridges, County Motor Fuel, Federal Highway Matching and Solid Waste
Economic Development (7 Members)Chairperson: TBA Reporting: County Clerk & Recorder, Treasurer, Supervisor of Assessments, Micrographics, Tax Sale Automation, Economic Development Corporation
Health & Human Services (6 Members)Advises the county board on all matters pertaining to the provision of health and human services to the residents of the county, including those services proved directly by the county and/or services provided by other that are overseen and/or funded by the county. This committee coordinates and oversees a wide variety of services in the fields of health, mental health, public health and long-term care. The committee oversees the administration of the county's senior services levy and the rural transportation services and veteran's transportaion servies provided through the Voluntary Action Center. This committee coordinates with the board of health, 708 board and the regional superintendent of schools. Law & Justice (7 Members)Chairperson: Julia Fullerton Reporting: Sheriff's Department (includes Corrections, Communications, Auxiliary/Radio Watch Merit Commission, Court Security and Special Projects), Coroner, ESDA, Judiciary, Jury Commission, Law Library, Public Defender, States Attorney, Drug Program, Circuit Clerk, Court Automation, Child Support, Drug Court, Document Storage, Court/Probation Services, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)
