The Children's
Waiting Room opened in
June 2006 and is located on the first floor
in the DeKalb County Courthouse. The CWR is open from 8:30 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday when the courthouse is
open. Supervised care is provided free of charge for children from 6
months to 10 years while their parents are in the courthouse.
Each child leaves the
CWR with a donated book of their own and a quilted book bag made by the
Genoa Quilters.
More than 300 children
were cared for during the first year of operation 2006-2007.
