| TITLE: |
Safe Alternative Family Environment (SAFE) House Parent |
| RESPONSIBLE TO: |
Deputy Director |
| RESPONSIBLE FOR: |
Responsible for the physical, emotional and social needs of children in a "substitute" family setting - a foster home - until the biological family can be reunited or a permanent placement plan can be implemented. |
| DUTIES INCLUDE: |
Reside in the designated county provided home and offer round the clock supervision for up to 5 youth in short term foster care and serve as an advisor for one youth in independent living. To participate in multi-disciplinary staffings for each youth assigned to the home. |
| QUALIFICATIONS: |
Must possess a minimum of a high school education and a general passion to provide a safe alternative family environment for children to thrive in. (Preferred candidates would be a couple, with or without children, with one of the parents working outside of the home) |

In addition to the minimum requirements, the successful applicant will have demonstrated ability in the following: |
| GENERAL EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: |

- Interpersonal Sensitivity
- Crisis Management
- Problem Analysis
- Judgement
- Cooperation with multiple agencies
Consideration will also be given to work histories and basic knowledge of family dynamics. |

| SALARY: |
All housing and utility expenses are covered by Juvenile Court Services. Monthly Stipend of $1500 on a contractualbasis 48 hours of respite each month |
