The following listed fees are established for services provided by the County Engineer’s Office:

A $5.00 administrative fee will be charged in addition to the above schedule. *All loads at or over 120,000 pounds will require a structural engineer’s assessment of any bridge to be crossed by such a load. The cost of such assessment to be borne by the permit requestor. No permit will be issued without such assessment being on file in the County Engineer’s Office.

The above fees will apply to engineering services provided to county and road districts for Federal, Motor Fuel Tax, and/or Township Bridge Program funded work.

 

COPY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH FOIA REQUESTS AND CONSTRUCTION BID DOCUMENTS (PLANS ONLY):

The above costs, if considered to be in the interest of the general public, are generally waived. If it is considered to be for commercial gain the above fees will apply.

 

For overwidth, overlength and overweight permits, multiple permits can be obtained for a one time $5.00 administrative fee depending on the circumstances (i.e. container shipments, overwidth, overlength). The per mile/per trip/per truck fee may be adjusted by the County Engineer depending on actual cost to the County for the upgrade of a particular roadway being traveled.

 

For information only: The Federal Highway Administration and the State of Illinois has determined that containerized cargo sealed for international trade is to be considered a nondivisible load for roadways under their jurisdiction.
