County Board & Property Owner Public Hearings

P.I.N.: 09-03-302-001  Howard and Donna Petersen, owners of the Chapel in the Pines located at 15165 Quigley Road in Cortland Township, is proposing to expand the business by hosting wedding receptions on the property.  However, the business is subject to a Special Use Permit that specifically prohibits wedding receptions.  In order to allow wedding receptions on the property, an amendment to the Special Use Permit must be granted.  Before the DeKalb County Board can approve an amendment to a Special Use, a public hearing must be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer.

Howard and Donna Petersen have requested such an amendment to a Special Use Permit to allow hosting of wedding receptions at 15165 Quigley Road.  A public hearing will be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in  the DeKalb County Administration Building, East Conference Room, south entrance, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, 60178.  Because this will be the only opportunity for public input on this application, all interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard.  The Special Use Amendment petition, CO-09-18, is available for inspection at the DeKalb County Planning Department, 110 E.
