Public Hearing

Cypress Creek Renewables Development, LLC, is the sole and managing member of Wolfcastle Solar, LLC, which has submitted an application for a 2 megawatt, 25.3–acre solar farm on property located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Lucas and Twombly Roads, in Malta Township. The property is zoned A-1, Agricultural District and solar farms are a Special Use in that district. Before a Special Use Permit can be approved by the DeKalb County Board, a public hearing must be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer.

 

Cypress Creek is requesting approval of a Special Use Permit for the proposed solar farm on Twombly Road, DeKalb. A public hearing will be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 2:15 p.m. in the DeKalb County Administrative Center, Conference Room East, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, 60178. Because this will be the only opportunity for public input on this application, all interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard. The Special Use Permit petition, MA-18-43, is available for inspection at the DeKalb County Community Development Department, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, (815) 895-7188.

 

THAT PART OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 12, TOWNSHIP 40 NORTH, RANGE 3 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, BEING MALTA TOWNSHIP, DEKALB COUNTY, ILLINOIS, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS;

 

COMMENCING AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SAID SECTION 12; THENCE ALONG THE SOUTH LINE OF SAID SOUTHEAST QUARTER NORTH 89°31'43" EAST, 1299.70 FEET TO THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER AND THE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE NORTH 0°27'50" WEST, 1288.19 FEET, ALONG THE WEST LINE OF SAID SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER TO THE NORTH LINE OF SAID SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER; THENCE NORTH 89°24'14" EAST, 1265.48 FEET, ALONG SAID NORTH LINE TO THE EAST LINE OF SAID SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER; THENCE SOUTH 0°30'16" EAST, 475.00 FEET ALONG SAID EAST LINE TO A LINE LYING 475.00 FEET SOUTH OF AND PARALLEL WITH (AS MEASURED PERPENDICULAR THERETO) SAID NORTH LINE; THENCE SOUTH 89°24'14" WEST, 690.82 FEET ALONG SAID PARALLEL LINE TO A LINE 575.00 FEET EAST OF AND PARALLEL WITH (AS MEASURED PERPENDICULAR THERETO) SAID WEST LINE; THENCE SOUTH 0°27'50" EAST, 814.43 FEET ALONG SAID PARALLEL LINE TO SAID SOUTH LINE OF SAID SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER; THENCE SOUTH 89°31'43" WEST, 575.00 FEET ALONG SAID SOUTH LINE TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING.

The application for the Special Use Permit has been filed in accordance with the requirements of Section 9.02 of the Zoning Ordinance in order to approve the construction and operation of a solar farm on property zoned A-1, Agricultural District.
