The DeKalb County Board is currently considering a proposal to amend the DeKalb County Zoning Ordinance to allow for and establish regulations for wind energy systems. In order to change the County Code and Zoning Ordinance, an Amendment must be approved by the County Board. Before the County Board can approve an Amendment, a Public Hearing must be held by the County Hearing Officer.

 

The DeKalb County Community Development Department has filed a petition for the proposed Zoning Text Amendment. Two public hearings will be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer.

Both will be held on the same date & at the same location:

  • WHEN:  Monday, September 24, 2018
  • WHERE:  Egyptian Theater, 135 N. 2nd Street, DeKalb, IL, 60115
  • TIME OF 1ST HEARING:  1:00 pm. to 4:30 pm.
  • TIME OF 2ND HEARING:  6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

As these will be the only opportunity for public input on this matter, all interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard. The proposed Zoning Text Amendments, Petition DC-18-35, is available for inspection at the DeKalb County Community Development Department, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, (815) 895-7188.

 

P.I.N. 01-24-100-001 Sunvest Solar, Inc. has submitted an application for a 2 megawatt, 11.63–acre solar garden on property located on Pearl Street, approximately 2000 feet south of Wolf Road, in Franklin Township. The property is zoned A-1, Agricultural District and solar gardens are a Special Use in that district. Before a Special Use Permit can be approved by the DeKalb County Board, a public hearing must be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer.

 

Sunvest is requesting approval of a Special Use Permit for the proposed solar garden on Pearl Street, Kirkland. A public hearing will be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the DeKalb County Administrative Center, Conference Room East, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, 60178. Because this will be the only opportunity for public input on this application, all interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard. The Special Use Permit petition, FR-18-33, is available for inspection at the DeKalb County Community Development Department, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, (815) 895-7188.

The property is zoned A-1, Agricultural District, and solar gardens are a Special Use in that district. Before a Special Use Permit can be approved by the DeKalb County Board, a public hearing must be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer.

 

Sunvest is requesting approval of a Special Use Permit for the proposed solar garden to be located on the southeast corner of the intersection of State Route 72 and Pleasant Hill Road, Kingston. A public hearing will be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. in the DeKalb County Administrative Center, Conference Room East, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, 60178. Because this will be the only opportunity for public input on this application, all interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard. The Special Use Permit petition, KI-18-34, is available for inspection at the DeKalb County Community Development Department, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, (815) 895-7188.

 

Cenergy Power has submitted applications for two separate 2-megawatt Solar Gardens, to be known as PSCS, LLC 1 and PSCS, LLC 2, to be located on 155-acre property located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Pine Road and Gov. Beveridge Highway, in Somonauk Township: one will be a 9.45–acre facility in the northeast corner of the property, and the second will be 9.45–acre facility immediately south of the first facility. The property is zoned A-1, Agricultural District, and solar gardens are a Special Use in that district. Before Special Use Permits can be approved by the DeKalb County Board, a public hearing must be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer.  

 

Cenergy Power is requesting approval of Special Use Permits for the proposed solar gardens on property located on the west side of Gov. Beveridge Highway, Somonauk. A public hearing will be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. in the DeKalb County Administrative Center, Conference Room East, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, 60178.  Because this will be the only opportunity for public input on this application, all interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard.  The Special Use Permit petitions, SO-18-38 and SO-18-39, are available for inspection at the DeKalb County Community Development Department, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, (815) 895-7188

 

Cypress Creek Renewables Development, LLC, is the sole and managing member of Wolfcastle Solar, LLC, which has submitted an application for a 2 megawatt, 25.3–acre solar farm on property located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Lucas and Twombly Roads, in Malta Township. The property is zoned A-1, Agricultural District and solar farms are a Special Use in that district. Before a Special Use Permit can be approved by the DeKalb County Board, a public hearing must be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer.

 

Cypress Creek is requesting approval of a Special Use Permit for the proposed solar farm on Twombly Road, DeKalb. A public hearing will be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 2:15 p.m. in the DeKalb County Administrative Center, Conference Room East, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, 60178. Because this will be the only opportunity for public input on this application, all interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard. The Special Use Permit petition, MA-18-43, , is available for inspection at the DeKalb County Community Development Department, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, (815) 895-7188.
