SGC Power has submitted an application for a 2-megawatt, 13-acre Solar Garden, to be known as SGC IL Development One LLC, on property located on the east side of Glidden Road, in the northern portion of the 31.74-acre property located approximately 740 feet south of Wolf Road. The property is zoned A-1, Agricultural District, and solar gardens are a Special Use in that district. Before a Special Use Permit can be approved by the DeKalb County Board, a public hearing must be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer.

 

SGC Power is requesting approval of a Special Use Permit for the proposed solar garden on property along Glidden Road, Kingston. A public hearing will be held before the DeKalb County Hearing Officer on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 2:45 p.m. in the DeKalb County Administrative Center, Conference Room East, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, 60178. Because this will be the only opportunity for public input on this application, all interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard. The Special Use Permit petition, KI-18-59 is available for inspection at the DeKalb County Community Development Department, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, (815) 895-7188.

 

That part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 16, Township 42 North, Range 4 East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows:


Commencing at the Northwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 16; thence Southerly, along the West line of said Southwest Quarter, 662.69 feet to the Northwest corner of the South Half of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 16, for a point of beginning; thence continuing Southerly, along said West line, 1443.06 feet to the Northwest corner of the 1st Addition to Frank-Lor Subdivision, recorded as Document No. 96012737 in Book "Z" of Plats, page 207, said point being 545.0 feet North of the Southwest corner of said Southwest Quarter; thence Easterly, along the North line of Shangrila Boulevard as dedicated on the plat of said 1st Addition to Frank-Lor Subdivision, at an angle of 90 degrees, 14 minutes, 16 seconds, measured clockwise from said West line, parallel with the South line of said Quarter, 653.94 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 1 in said 1st Addition to Frank-Lor Subdivision; thence Northerly, along the West line of Lots 1, 2 and 3 of said 1st Addition to Frank-Lor Subdivision, at an angle of 89 degrees, 57 minutes, 42 seconds measured clockwise from the last described course, 780.67 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 4; thence Easterly, along the North line of Lots 4 and 5 of said 1st Addition to Frank-Lor Subdivision, 656.65 feet to the Northeast corner of said Lot 5; thence Northerly, along the East line of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said section, at an angle of 89 degrees, 43 minutes, 42 seconds measured clockwise from the last described course, 663.0 feet to the Northeast corner of the South Half of the Northwest Quarter of said Southwest Quarter, thence Westerly, along the North line of the South Half of the Northwest Quarter of said Southwest Quarter 1312.59 feet to the point of beginning, all in Kingston Township, DeKalb County, Illinois.

The application for the Special Use Permit has been filed in accordance with the requirements of Section 9.02 of the Zoning Ordinance in order to approve the construction of a solar garden on property zoned A-1, Agricultural District.
