Community Event Submission Guidelines: This page was designed to promote community-oriented events open to DeKalb County residents. DeKalb County reserves the right to refuse or edit any submission made for the community event calendar.
	Sandwich Fair This annual five-day event in the City of Sandwich starts on the Wednesday immediately following Labor Day and runs through Sunday evening. The link above will take you to the Sandwich Fair's official site.
	NIU's Convocation Center - Calendar of Events The Convocation Center is located on NIU's West Campus, north of Lincoln Highway, south of the soccer fields and west of Huskie Stadium. NIU's Art/Drama/Music NIU's Athletics

	Sycamore Pumpkin Festival This annual event is held the last full weekend of October in the City of Sycamore. Talk to "Mr. Pumpkin" (a recorded telephone message) Sept. 1 - Oct. 31 at (815) 895-5161. Check out historical information on the Pumpkin Festival.
	Annual Waterman Lion’s Club Tractor Show & Waterman Summer Fest Is held in July at Waterman Lion’s Community Park located south of Rt. 30 on Birch St. The day’s events begin with a French Toast Breakfast at 7am. Other events include: Antique Tractor Show (call Leonard at 815-264-3841 to enter), Parade of Power, Kid’s Pedal Tractor Pull, Craft Show/Flea Market (call Richard at 815-264-3664 to reserve space), Petting Zoo, Kid’s activities, Draw-Down Raffle, All Day concessions, Lion’s Club Pork Chop BBQ, Hayrides, Magic Show at 2:30, Live Bands, Beer Garden and Fireworks.
	Hands Around the Courthouse This annual (April 29, 2010) event invites people to join hands to show their support of Child Abuse Prevention Month & Child Abuse Awareness Week. The event will be held at noon in the courtyard of the DeKalb County Courthouse in Sycamore, IL. 	4th of July Celebration - Kirkland Fireworks every year at 9:30pm *Biggest in Northern Illinois* Huge Parade Food & Entertainment
	Somonauk Summer Fest Enjoy the 3rd annual three day event taking place in the Village of Somonauk the last weekend in July (July 30th-August 1st). There will be a variety of events including a parade, RE/MAX Balloon rides, cruise night, car show, antique baseball games, craft show, ISP Truck and Tractor Pull, beergarden and live music as well as volleyball and bean bag tournaments, plus plenty for the kids. 	DeKalb Corn Fest This annual event is held the last full weekend of August in the City of DeKalb (815) 748-CORN
	Illinois State Fair The fair is “family-friendly”, and throughout the 10-day fair (normally in August), each day will spotlight a different focus, including: county fairs, local officials, veterans, senior citizens, youth, park districts, families/violence prevention, and agriculture.
