Early Risk Assessment Project (ERAP)
Forms:
The Early Risk Assessment Project (ERAP) is a diversion program developed in 2014, to give first-time juvenile offenders the opportunity to resolve criminal behaviors outside of the juvenile justice system and provide services to help them make positive behavioral changes. Program case management services are provided at no cost to participating families. If the juvenile successfully completes the program, the case is closed without criminal charges being filed and the juvenile’s court record remains clean. If the juvenile does not successfully complete ERAP, the police report is sent to the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office for a charging decision.
