Kishwaukee Forest Preserve is 235 acres, including a 56 acre donation from the Chambers family. This preserve meanders along a one mile stretch of the South Branch of the Kishwaukee River. The area south of the river is open to the public and natural resource and habitat improvement is in progress with prairie, wetland and forest restoration work. There are hiking trails, canoe, kayak and fishing access and a small picnic area.
