4th Distribution Report

August 22, 2019

DeKalb County Treasurer Christine J. Johnson’s office made the fourth distribution of DeKalb County real estate taxes on August 16, 2019.

Of the $222,831,811.58 to be collected, $125,651,210.06 or 56.3%, has been collected and distributed to date. The funds are distributed electronically, and tax distribution reports are available on the county’s website.

“We have found electronic funds transfer to be a very efficient and cost-effective method of distributing taxes,” says Johnson. “It is also a convenience for the taxing bodies which saves them time and effort as their tax distributions are deposited directly into the bank accounts they specify. Their funds are available for their use more quickly as well.”

The Treasurer’s office also makes tax distribution reports available on the Treasurer’s Office page of the DeKalb County website. “This is beneficial for the taxing districts as they have access to their information prior to the distribution being made,” continued Johnson. “The information is then also available for auditors, bond companies, taxpayers, and others who may use it.”

Of that $125,651,210.06, $13,700,704.97 has been distributed to DeKalb County and Forest Preserve District, $5,189,865.99 has been distributed to townships and township road and bridge districts, $2,226,685.58 has been distributed to libraries, $8,741,080.97 has been distributed to cities and villages. Fire districts have received $2,632,197.33, and $4,809,101.52 has been distributed to park districts. School districts have received $75,046,019.52; community colleges have received $7,553,975.14; TIF districts have received $5,598,908.12; and drainage districts have received $152,670.92.
