Cable television service is provided in unincorporated DeKalb County under franchises granted by the County Board. Each company that wishes to provide cable TV service must be granted a franchise following an application for approval. CMN-RUS, INC is requesting approval of a franchise to provide cable TV service to residences in unincorporated DeKalb and Sycamore Townships. Before approval of a new franchise can be granted, the application must be reviewed by a committee of the County Board and subject to a public hearing.

CMN-RUS, INC has filed an application for a franchise for the provision of cable television service to portions of unincorporated DeKalb County. A public hearing will be held by the DeKalb County Board at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the DeKalb County Legislative Center, Gathertorium, 200 North Main Street, Sycamore, Illinois. As this will be the only opportunity for public input on this matter, all interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard. The cable television franchises are proposed to cover areas north of the city limits of Sycamore and found in adjacent pockets of land that abut municipal boundaries The application is available for inspection at the DeKalb County Community Development Department, 110 E. Sycamore Street, Sycamore, IL, 815-895-7188.
