DeKalb Chief County Assessment Officer (CCAO) Mission Statement: Our goal here at the DeKalb County Supervisor of Assessments Office, is to provide the constituents of DeKalb County accurate, efficient, and timely assessments of property valuation. In order to achieve this goal, the Chief County Assessment Officer serves the resident taxpayers of DeKalb County with assessing property value in accordance with the Property Tax Code (35ILCS200).
How we serve DEKALB COUNTY:
Maintains the Parcel Ownership Record Database
Annually assembles township assessors for instruction on the assessment process
Receive and analyze township assessment rolls
Equalize assessments within the county or any area therein
Apply various exemptions to homestead and non-homestead properties
Publishes the assessment roll for each township in general reassessment year (quadrennial year)
Annually publishes and provides mailed notice to owners of property which has been reassessed or changed by the Township Assessor, Mapping Department or Chief County Assessment Officer
Administers the work of the Board of Review
Certifies the assessment roll to the Board of Review
Reports statistical abstracts to the Illinois Department of Revenue
The CCAO serves as the Clerk of the Board of Review.
The CCAO serves as the chairman of the County Farmland Assessment Review Committee.
