9/11/2026 – Board of Review Exam Notice
The Department of Revenue, Springfield, Illinois, has fixed 10/01/2026, as the date for an examination for the position of Board of Review member, pursuant to 35 ILCS 200/6-10 of the Property Tax Code.
The examination will be held at Conference Room East, located at 110 E Sycamore St., Sycamore IL 60178 at 11:30 a.m.
The examination and facilities will be accessible for persons with disabilities in compliance with state and federal laws. Persons in need of special accommodations should notify Mia McCammon, at 815-895-7120, by 09/30/2026 at 10:00 a.m. to make the necessary arrangements.
Application forms and information may be obtained by contacting Mia McCammon, at Supervisor of Assessments, in Sycamore, located at 110 E Sycamore St, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Individuals interested in taking the examination should contact Mia McCammon, at 815-895-7120 by 10:00 a.m. of the day before the examination to register.
5/19/2025 – Legal Notice
Notice is hereby given that the County Farmland Assessment Review Committee of DeKalb County, Illinois, pursuant to the provisions of Illinois Compiled Statutes, Chapter 35, 200/10-120 of the Property Tax Code, will hold a public hearing, the subject of which shall be the proposed equalized assessed value of farmland for 2026.
Notice is further given that the owners of property affected or anyone representing them or other citizens of DeKalb County may appear before the County Farmland Assessment Review Committee of DeKalb, Illinois, at a hearing to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the 3rd day of June, 2025 in the Conference Room East of the DeKalb County Administration Building, 110 East Sycamore Street, Sycamore, Illinois.
The Illinois Compiled Statutes, Chapter 35, 200/10-120, provide that the assessment of farmland be based upon the agricultural economic value per acre by soil productivity index. The equalized assessed value shall represent 33 1/3 of the agricultural economic value.

Attention persons 65 years of age, it is time to file for your Senior Homestead Exemption!
If you are 65 years of age or will be turning 65 this year, you may be eligible for a Senior Homestead Exemption. To qualify, you must own and live in your home as your primary residence. Applications can be filed anytime during the year that you turn 65.

Is your address correct for your tax bill? Have you moved in the last year? An incorrect mailing address could prevent you from receiving your tax bill and other important notices in a timely fashion. The Chief County Assessment Office requests that anyone who has moved or has a different mailing address than previously listed to contact them right away.
To update your address please complete, print, and sign the Change of Address form found on the DeKalb County website at www.dekalbcounty.org under the Assessment Office and/or the Treasurer’s Dept. Tabs or contact the Chief County Assessment Office at 815-895-7120 to receive. Please mail the completed and owner signed change request to Chief County Assessment Office, Administration Building, 110 E Sycamore St, Sycamore, IL 60178, email to CCAO@dekalbcounty.org, or fax to 815-895-1684.
